Rubber keypads are produced in silicone rubber by means of compression moulding, this process allows us to mould the angled web areas that control the tactile feel of the buttons and also incorporate conductive carbon contacts into the finished moulding. Moulding the keypads in silicone means we can cater easily for specific material characteristics that are required, such as:

3.Keypad printing :

After moulding the silicone rubber keypads can be finished in several different ways to add further value to the product.

It is extremely important to get the final finish quality of the keypad correct. Rubbertech have been printing keypads for over 30 years and can help advise on the best method to achieve the finish required. There are many options available, such as:

●Multi colour printing (all print colours can be pantone matched)

●Spray colour finish

●Metallic spray finish

●Negative printing. Often used on translucent keypads to offer backlit effects

●Laser Etching. Used to create backlit legends

We accept 2D and 3D CAD data and only ask that you supply us with the basic model showing overall dimensions and quantities required, we can supply a quotation from this information. Once accepted we will help to refine the design to ensure the keypad offers the correct operating force and travel that our customers require.
